One must be very careful when performing a love spell
as the temptation is to impose your will over another,
a form of psychic rape which is against all the
witches' ethics. The spell included here are therefore
spells that attempt to avoid those ethical problems,
as you will see. The important thing to remember when
casting them is not to concentrate on the person
falling in love with you, but having them notice you
favourably and then perhaps, if it is meant to be, a
relationship may proceed from there. If you try to
force a person to love you, then they may end up in
your arms and have absolutely no idea why they are
there and things can definitely get more than a little
loopy from there. Trust me.
First anoint a pink
candle with jasmine
oil. Dedicate
the candle to The Goddess of Love.

- In my heart there is a great love for (loved one's
name)
- Give me guidance, Great Lady
- If this is a good, strong, healthy love that would be
right for both of us then let (loved one's) heart

delights and enthralls me
- And if it please you, Great Goddess, bring us together
in love
- If you find this love unworthy or wrong for either of
us, I pray for you to cleanse my heart, my soul, my
mind, my body of it and let me walk free and full of
joy to find another love

Ingredients: 
- 2 Red
Candles
- A long-stemmed Red
Rose
- A piece of Parchment Paper,
a Quill
and some Dove's Blood
Ink
- Some objects, photos and other items that make you
think of an ideal partner. These can be of someone you
know, someone from history or your own past, a movie
idol. These items should not be of one person but from
a number of different individuals.
Perform this spell on a Friday night (the night
consecrated to Venus,
the Goddess of Love) during the
New Moon cycle. Light the incense and the candles.
Inhale the scent of the rose and think of ideal love
entering your life. Stare at the swirling smoke of the
incense. Listen to the sounds, be aware of the
different sensations of your body...feel relaxation
moving through you.
When you are ready, look over the items that make you
think of that ideal partner. Think of which aspect of
these images attracts you most. Maybe the movie idol
represents your physical ideal, perhaps there is a
character in a novel or movie whose qualities you
admire, or a friend whose courage, honesty,
intellectual or physical prowess you would like to see
in a potential mate. Be specific about what you want.
Meditate on the images of your ideal love and write
them down on the parchment paper in Dove's Blood
Ink.
Now wrap the paper around the rose and bind it with a
red cord or ribbon. Now cradle the parchment wrapped
rose in both hands and think about the love of your
life entering your sphere and returning your feelings
ardently. Gaze at the candle flame and visualize
yourself in passionate love and happiness. Now bury
the parchment wrapped rose in the Earth so that
metaphorically it will grow. Invoke a Love Goddess
to
bless your spell.
This charm is said to have been created by Marie
Laveau, a famous 19th century New Orleans Voodoo
Queen. Her spell was an out and out love spell devised
to entice a particular person. I have altered it so
that the force of the magick will bring love into your
life but while performing it you should think as in
the previous spell of bringing a lover who embodies
what you seek, but not a specific person.
 Ingredients:
- 1/2 teaspoon Angelica
- 1 teaspoon chopped Spearmint
- 1 teaspoon of Cleopatra
powder or Love-Drawing
powder
- Parchment Paper
and Quill
- Dove's Blood
Ink
The best time to cast this spell is at midnight on a
full moon.
As in the previous spell, meditate on the qualities
you want in a lover. Then write them down on the
parchment paper in Dove's Blood
Ink. In a cauldron or
an old tin can which you have placed on a fire
retardant surface put the parchment paper, magick
powder and herbs. Carefully light the contents on fire
and let it burn to ash. Let the ashes cool and then
put them into a red bag, tying the top tightly. Carry
this bag around with you in your purse of briefcase at
all times until the spell takes effect. If you need at
any time to refresh the power of the spell you cand
ask for the Love Goddess' blessing and hold your
athame above the bag, channelling power into it.
 When
you've been with the same lover for sometime, it can be hard to
keep the passion at fever pitch. This spell has been known to work
wonders. It would be ideal to let your lover in on the fact that
you are casting this spell. You should cast this spell during a
waxing moon. The night of a full moon or a new moon is particularly
auspicious.
Ingredients:
Red
or Pink
Rose Petals

or Pink

- A bottle of Champagne
- Pansies
Put on some music that puts both you and your lover in
the mood (just try, for the sake of civilization as a
whole to avoid playing Barry Manilow). Lower the
lights. Sprinkle the rose petals on a freshly made
bed—it is even better if you can buy some sensual
feeling sheets for the occasion but if you can't
afford that, just make sure they are freshly laundered
and the nicest ones you have. Light a candle and place
it somewhere safe in the bathroom.
Run the bath and add the pansy flowers and let them
float around you as you and your lover take the bath
together. Both of you should have a glass of champagne
as you loll in the tub.
Wrap yourselves in towels and proceed to the bedroom.
Approach your love and kiss him lingeringly in three
places—first his throat, then his chest, then his
belly.
Say, either out loud if it won't freak him out or
silently

- Awaken the flames of Desire within us!
Then put both your hands on your lovers' chest,
feeling his heartbeat. Then look deep into his eye,
into ihis soul and say his name softly.
Hmmm...I'm getting a little hot and bothered just
thinking about this apell...it should work like
magick!
